What was the reason for putting the trip reports in two forums originally?"

Just checking at half of the posting in the Listening Point Forum and the first page are now trip report. We have two trip report forums.

I think it's ok, I actually have been reading more of them since they have been on the listening point section. Wasn't visiting the trips section much before this arrangement.

When I clicked on the poll link, I found that I only had a 'yes' or 'no' option. I like the idea of a new trip report showing up in the Listening Point forum, giving readers the option of subscribing to the report thread, but after a week or so the thread would only appear in the Trip Report forum.

I notice them and usually skip over them if it's not an area of interest. Saves a trip to the Trip Reports forum, I guess.

That's like telling some of us from warmer climates to learn a different language.
We'll trade you for a ban on "pop". They're all cokes, just different types!

I'd prefer to keep them in their own forum and not have them duplicated in this forum. I read pretty much all of them but it's annoying that when someone comments that they pop up at the top of the Listening Point - General Discussion again.

Listening Post is a topic that I check in on every day, sometimes several times. I like that it makes me aware of a new trip report that has been posted. I may not read it immediately but usually read it within a few days because I enjoy them. I do not go out of my way to click on the trip reports thread each day so the only way I know there are new ones posted is when they show up in LIstening Post. If you don't want to read them then just don't click on them, duh.
If trip reports are cramping your style then just don't click .If you are staying away from the Listening Post topic because there are new trip reports posted...all I can say is really?

I like this change--it lets me see a new report and subscribe to it if it's of interest, but doesn't fill the Listening Point forum with comments on trip reports that may be months old.

There's a few more. Go to Your Account and scroll down to view poll results . It's at the top of the list.
Move your cursor over the colored blocks.

I prefer them in their own forum. We need more people to vote

We have had some comments on why are people posting trip reports in the listening point forum. People are not actually posting them there. We started publishing to both the Trip Report Forum and the Listening Point forum at the same time.
Please take this poll and let us know your thoughts on if we should continue to do this or not?
