Haha I'm thinking the pearls of the mississippi may prevent you from seeing them even more up there :)

August 18th will be the best night for viewing. It is a 5 out of 10 KP index rating tonight, but a 7 out of 10 tomorrow night. Hope the clouds stay away…

Partly sunny now, but just when you think it’s done they come right back. It really poured last night! So no chance there. Forecast does not look favorable. Fingers crossed!

The following is from Des Moines,IA National Weather Service. If they post it- areas further N have a much better chance, Of course- if skies are Clear. Just be on the lookout as a G3 event is rather rare.

I follow one of the space weather web sites. The sun is getting more active and the current situation has potential to continue for more than one day. Hope for clear skies and wish you were in the wilderness.
