No guess on the lake, but the tree with the flowers...looks like a Service Berry (aka June Berry) tree. I'd need to see the leaves to verify.
June Berry are absolutely delicious and one of the first berries to ripen every year.

This photo likely won't help, but the denrologically and botanically aware among us may be able to infer some ecological characteristics of the surrounding landscape.
The first two photos were taken from the top of a high ridge. I hiked up from my campsite, past a steep rock face, and then followed the high ridges behind the face to the overlook. The photo above is on one of those ridges.
As for the lake itself, it's just a rock between two birds.

It was a Serviceberry...though I prefer the Canadian common name of Saskatoon (more fun to say, haha!) It's probably my favorite wild edible. Also one of the reasons I took the original picture in that direction.
While we're talking plants, the trees above the Serviceberry are a hint as to the lake location.

This website labels it 801 sitting just east of the Kingfisher portage. And yes, the overlook is a bit of a bushwhack (with a story!)
I can be known to get a little excited for the first trip of the season....just a little. So much so that for the guide seasons, I usually showed up bouncing/shaking to staff training trip. Not out of anxiety or fear, I was just so excited that I couldn't sit still. It ends up being a tad discouraging to new guides when the seasoned returner is straight up shaking at breakfast (also not reassuring to my groups) so I have to try to control it. I just love BW canoe trips so much! That carries over to trip energy and it's VERY difficult to tire me out those first few trips every year. Anyways, this was the first group canoe trip of 2021 and I was so amped up. Day one saw us go from Snowbank to Missionary. Day two from Missionary to Gijikiki. The next day, we travelled from Gijikiki through to Saganaga, Red Rock, and finished on Jasper. A certain new member of the group was less than enthused by the other members' assessment of "reasonable mileage." I was loving life, but not quite tired yet. So I set out from camp. There's a cliff near the portage where I pulled the canoe ashore. I hiked up the west edge of the cliff to the top (this is the small "bump out" on the map between the campsite and the portage) and noticed other high points behind me. I ended up hiking to every one. On the topo map, you'll notice a small cluster of four high points north and east of the initial one by the water. The photos I shared above are from some of those high points. It was a beautiful spot to watch the sunset, though the steep topo and the dense burn brush can make a mess of the hike. From there, I headed back to my canoe and took a spin around the lake in the fading light.

Fun story! One of the things I enjoy about this game is getting some insight into different lakes and hearing stories like this. Thanks for sharing. If/when I get to Jasper, it'll be fun to have this in my hip pocket.
