I still hate Norm Green" I heard he moved the team because someone from the organization accused him of sexual harassment. Maybe rumors.
WW, great video.

Norm Green selling the team was a lot more than sexual harassment charges. The team had a long spell of losing and gates sales were way down; he was losing money. Couple that with pressure from his wife to leave town due to the sexual harassment charges and you have a more full picture of why he moved the team. Does this mean your hate should abate? Heck no; hate on, and know you are not alone!

Although I must add that I have never understood the passion Northstar fans had/have for their jerseys. Ungodly ugly colors!

MichiganMan: "Red Wings fan here but still love NHL playoffs even when the Wings are out. I like the Wild too, so I was bummed to see them get knocked out. I thought they might have been able to make a run this year. I've watched a lot of the first round games, and I have no idea who the favorite will be now. Can't believe Fla beat Boston and Toronto beat Tampa. Rangers-Devils game 7 tonight is gonna be interesting. "

Even with the Leafs first round curse I had them beating Tampa in five or six. They should play a lot looser with that monkey off their back now. But I'm not underestimating FLA.

Leafs in 6.
Carolina in 7
Dallas in 5
Edmonton in 7

LindenTree: "Since this is an OT thread, here are a few names that I have seen play professional hockey. Those guys were great.

Gordie Howe, with his two sons on the same line. WHA
Bobby Hull
Dave Keon, with his straight stick
Gerry Chevers with his scars painted into his mask
John McKenzie
The great one Gretzsky
And of course all the N Stars that graced the ice.

I'm sure I have forgotten many.

My hero as a kid was Bobby Orr. Also loved the Esposito brothers!

Had this in my photos -- must have been another similar thread years back.

Remember well the Secord/Plett fights and the cheap shots Secord put out on Dino etc. Those were the days!!

A more embarrassing arrest was when Patrick Kane assaulted and robbed a New York taxi driver.

Blackhawks fan first.... But I'd like to see MN win a Stanley Cup in my lifetime. Lots of great MN friends. What state deserves it more?

Good for Seattle advancing. Seattle was the first US city to win a Stanley Cup...1917.

The loss to Dallas was upsetting, but it was not an upset. Dallas is a better team and was better coached. The Mild have two more years of salary cap hell to contend with; almost 15 million per year due to the Sutter Parise buyouts. They will not compete in the postseason until after that nightmare ends.

What is shocking is the Boston loss in round one; the Beantown fans must be going nuts! Same with Colorado. Both of those series were upsets.

Though the Kracken were "apparently" big underdogs to the AVS-- what they had was a "young" team and ability to win away from home (3 in COL) something the Kracken have done all year. COL has (had the talent-- much like DALLAS) but Seattle found a way to be gritty and stay out of the box-- though the COL pp was sub par. The COL studs are getting old minus Makar and other D. Something the WILD need to do better at. (get younger, and better PP Kill-- Kracken PP sucked all year)--- The Wild will do wonders if they follow the Kracken plan and simply get younger imo-- though Kracken have not had a chance to get "old".

FL and Boston was just a total outta of this world result. ( Boston losing 3 in a row-- hadn't happend all season-- NON OT-- and those 3 were All on the road)) Never would happen in the NBA or MLB everything =. But that's why the NHL playoffs are the best of the bunch.

GO KRACKEN!!!

Seattle and Las Vegas had the advantage of the expansion draft-and both teams took full advantage. Besides having possible the ugliest sweaters in the NHL, the Kraken are coached by Dave Hackstool, and as a MN Gopher fan, I cannot ever cheer for anyone ever connected to the UND program;-)

Actually, what I really like about the NHL is that there is some pretty serious parity across the league. I will say at this point, I am pulling for Toronto.

This from ESPN on the Bruins demise-- makes us Wild fans seem...-- maybe feel a little better--

The Panthers had 43 fewer points than the Bruins. It's the second-largest negative regular season point differential in a series win in Stanley Cup Playoff history, according to ESPN Stats and Information. Boston didn't lose three games in a row during the regular season and turned around and lost three straight in the first round to become the 10th consecutive President's Trophy winner to not reach the Stanley Cup Final.

If the Leafs don't win it (or advance) agst the likes of FL and Caro /NY team -- they will be hard pressed to get a gift to the Cup Finals like this year.
Obviously I mentioned Kracken above and they still are a dark horse to win it all-- but that Carolina team is scary good with a damn good coach. I have no clue on a winner for the CUP- but something says again-- non Canadian - and my .02 is Carolina or Vegas. Both Leafs and Oilers over the hump -- but can they win it all?? Time will tell. But still cheering for the underdogs in the Kracken.

I think it's more about the players than the fans, in which case I think both teams deserve it equally as long as they left it all out on the ice, despite Chicago having 6 titles to our 0.

To remind you, the Stars were 0-2 in the Cup while in MN. Choked long before they left, but at least they won a few rounds in the playoffs and made it to the Cup twice.

No need for reminders, my parents had season tickets to the N Stars. I must have been to over 100 games. I watched them lose to the Penguins when Mario Lemieux got healthy enough to kill their last Stanley cup challenge.

Wrong. Pleaded guilty to an indecent exposure charge in the early 90s and charged with 3 other Capital players of sexually assaulting a 17 year old. No charges filed on the later, but the guy was hardly a role model.

I was joking
I was saying that at least Dino kept his pants on, during the brawl.

Dino was a great hockey player
Secord was very good.
They were good times.... period !
