Maybe shouldn't comment but, I wouldn't post a photo on Disappointment Lake that had cans of diced tomato in it.

Homer Lake Memorial Day weekend 2019 in the morning The day that my dad passed away. When we woke up that morning my daughter said “It’s a beautiful day to paddle home. Can we leave today instead of tomorrow?” We made it home 2 hours before he was gone.

We were trying to block the wind so we could cook. Brent Lake island mid-lake (near the Conmee portage) a few years ago. I have heard the island was burned in 2021.

Photography is all about saving the memories, right? I have quite a few tarp photos, and some are much prettier than this one. But this was the first time we set up our new green tarp (previously had been just cobbling up something with an old brown rainfly we had on hand), and even though the application was a bit rough around the edges, it brings back some sweet memories. Just seeing that crooked center pole makes me smile. :-)
