I think they usually wait for quite a few days of rain so I would assume like a week of low fire conditions

Also I believe it goes by county"

The DNR does not manage the BWCA. You are looking for info from the Superior National Forest. The fire ban is being lifted momdsy morning for the forest

How much more rain is needed before the fire ban will be lifted? Can one area of the BWCA lift the ban before other areas, or is it usually all at one time?

Thanks for any insight.

With the lack of rain earlier, the soil is dry deep down so it having only a small amount of rain leaves it susceptible to quickly drying out on the surface. I suspect that they will wait to see if there is sufficient rain to soak up the deeper soils.

Deep soil on the Canadian Shield, there is an oxymoron for ya.
