I believe this is some Tree Lungwort I found on the Gulf Lake portage within the BWCA. While it looks very leaf-like, I believe the fungi, algae, and cyanobacteria that create this organism technically don't fall into the plant kingdom!

First trip to the Boundary Waters for myself and it was a great change of pace. One of my favorite parts was observing the schedules of the wild life and seeing what plant life thrives in the area. Iris are one of my favorite flowers and it was surprising to see them scattered among the grasses along the Kelso River.
