Well I'm glad to hear that there are any blueberries at all. I was wondering with the dry June and fire ban if we'd have another year without them. Glad to hear they're coming out.

We found a few to eat along the way to and on Sarah in Quetico around the 3rd. It looks likes a pretty good crop this year. They were still a little sour, but they were blue.

I found some that were ready to go, and then on the very next lake they were all green.

Blueberries are coming along. This morning I picked a gallon of saskatoons. Thimbleberries are starting to look good!!

I saw mostly green blueberries, but the strawberries were to die for!

So, I won't eat blueberries found around camp.

Simply because one year while going to the bathroom, I looked down and I was relieving myself on a patch of them right next to the site.

Just sayin...

Found enough for Blueberry Pancakes on LLC last week.

Anyone running across any ripe berries yet?

I found a few ripe berries the other day in a patch about an hour south of Ely. Wasn't worth hunkering down and picking but, enough for a small taste.

A bit early on the east side, TB, but the flowers were abundant with the wet spring. I've been wondering if the recent rain we had will help the berries, as it was getting so crispy. We'll see! The strawberries were abundant - starting to end already. Also a lot of blooms on the thimble berries. Fingers crossed! :)

On July 1 I saw the first ripe blueberries of the year on the Devils Cascade portage. Yesterday there were two handfuls of ripe berries at the Hustler lake portage landing.

The majority are still green.

They’re just starting to be ready off the Fernberg Road. I picked a good handful yesterday. I’d say the best picking will be two weeks or so from now. Lots of green berries still.

Picked 3 ice cream pails of berries the last few days.

We enjoyed blueberry pancakes on our last morning in the cabin, July 8th. Went to Chik Wauk the day before and hiked on a few of the trails. We didn't do the trail to "Blueberry Hill", but Anna did the "Big Sag" trail (posted as 'difficult'), and she dumped out her water bottle in order to bring back a couple of handfuls that she picked quickly.

They were a real treat!!

Good number of ripe blueberries though many are small. Service berries are going gangbusters right now. Raspberries are ripe though they seem to have been stunted a bit akin to the blueberries.

They're starting to be worth picking in the patches around home.
