Thanks. This is my second solo to the Wood Lake area. I plan on base camping and sleeping a lot.

Have fun tomorrow, and can't wait to hear all about it. I have fond memories of my trip in that area and caught the biggest fish of my life over on Basswod!

I'm at my office on Wednesday, catching up on things before I leave for my brief solo trip on Sunday. I am going on at EP 26 Wood Lake on Monday the 10th.

I went to print my permit from the confirmation email I received from recreation.gov. And it's a good thing I did. My permit is actually to put in July 9, NOT July 10. D'oh!

Consequently everything was moved up a day, but I was able to adjust everything to make it work. Close call.

Years ago we arrived at Yellowstone NP a day ahead of our reservation.

Glad you caught it in time.


My wrong date booking was for a bunkhouse at Rockwood one time. I checked my email confirmation in the morning before leaving home and to my horror I had a typo that I didn’t catch and I had booked the wrong date. And of course they didn’t have an opening that day. Luckily, I quickly found one at Clearwater before driving up.


Have a great trip. My younger daughter and I spent a few days on Wood at the end of June and had a great time.
