I acquired a used kevlar canoe (Northstar starlite layup) that had been stored right side up using straps around the hull, rather than inverted resting on the gunwales. It seems that the side of the hull has taken a slight "set" where one of the straps put pressure on it. It's above the waterline and minor, though pretty noticeable. Maybe a 6 inch diameter concave area, perhaps a quarter inch deep depression. The canoe is otherwise in very good shape, only two years old.

Does anyone have experience undoing a deformation like this in a kevlar hull? What technique works?

I can definitely just leave it and forget about it, but if there is a method to "reset" it then I'd probably do so.

Thanks for any advice!

Thanks, I did that as well. Always like hearing experience from folks here too.

I will post back when I hear from Northstar. They’ve been great about answering questions.

I would contact Northstar Canoe for the definitive answer.
