LindenTree	06/27/2024 09:09AM   I cut blow down all last week on Rose Lake with the rangers, we cleared the 2 mile long portage, and were able to clear a campsite on Rose. We also cut a few trees on Duncan Lake and the Border Route trail. We must have cut 75 trees, I'm dead tired.

Samsquatch	06/27/2024 08:21AM   The blowdowns I saw last year were on the southeast side of Rose Lake at the top of the ridge, visible from the water. My buddy was telling me the blowdowns were on the Border Route Trail. My buddy had hiked the BRT and said the blowdowns were there prior to his trip ten years ago. Recent reports I have read from news sites say the new blowdown is in the Rose Lake area east toward Mountain Lake. Yep, Trailer Park Boys pronunciation.

Were there more campsites needing to be cleared on Rose and nearby lakes?

We had to close one campsite on the south side of Rose Lake, it was near 100 feet of jack strawed Cedar all the way to the Thunderbox, took us three tries to find it and we were belly crawling. We also had to close the real nice camp site just west of the Duncan East Bearskin portage. Both are scheduled to be opened up by a team of sawyers next week.
