I do some sewing on the side and have had the same idea - turn people’s beloved old gear and apparel into zip sacks, toiletry bags and wallets. That’s what I do with my own stuff. I think it is a great. Good luck to you if you can get something like that off the ground and profitable.

The missus has made me a variety of stuff sacks and even a small tarp maybe 6x8’ which I use to cover gear, firewood, etc. Mostly my old tents, tarps have been discarded. Having somewhere to recycle them would be great.

Sounds like a cool idea. It’s usually the seams that fail, might as well put the rest to good use. Give it a whirl.

Good idea. I’ve got one old ccs tarp and 3 or 4 old tents that I still have and wondering what I should do with them. I’d love to put them to good use.

Cool idea. Could you also make tent footprints from that stuff? For inside or outside the tents?
I shredded a great tarp a few years back. Wish I knew you then!

I'm curious what everyone does with their old tarps and tents? With owning a sewing business, I have been thinking about offering a recycling program. I would take your old tarps and tents and make them into stuff sacks and other small accessories bags. Is this worth pursuing?
