The "hot pagers" is presumably a reference to recent cyber attacks.

Thanks for the input. Sort of suspected it might be a bit of a buyer's market in the fall, but good advice just to list it. I will definitely strive to get the price right. Not going to overvalue it.

I'm guessing canoes like the Northwind 20 and the Northstar B19 move a little slower than typical tandems/solos. In this case it is a B19 in great shape. It's been a very good family canoe but our girls are strong enough paddlers now that we're taking two tandems instead. I'll likely post in the for sale forum in a couple weeks.

I used to sell canoes.

The best time to sell a canoe is Feb through May with March and April being my best months. I could not give away a canoe in July.

We are human. We start dreaming of our trips in the winter and are ready to buy as the snow melts.

Just like you don’t sell a snowmobile in January. You sell it in September.

Canoecopia is in March and not by chance.

With that, you can list a canoe anytime but not many people are looking this time of year.

My two cents.

A really unfortunate thing to see here. Children were killed in that attack, I can’t even fathom making a joke about it.

I listed two canoes this June and both sold in a week. Chicago area so a large base of potential interest nearby.

I’m in no hurry to sell, but I’d rather not post too early or late. I always assumed the best time would be May, maybe June, as the paddling season begins (rather than fall, as it winds down). I’m not sure that’s the case, though.

Has anyone noticed a trend in best time to list and sell or have any advice on selling?

Thanks!

Many canoes are posted in August or later when folks start looking to make room in their garages or their rental business racks, making for a bit more of a buyers market.

Other hand, solo canoes and desirable models of tandems in good condition always seem to go quick when priced fairly.

If they are priced right it probably doesn't matter.
