The Hibbing airport has free parking, that might be an option as well. Its not totally on the way, but only adds a few minutes.

Leave it at the Duluth Airport. My sister left her's there for a couple of weeks until my nephew picked it up when he flew in. They did it all the time. It says theirs a fee but she just left it there and never got charged

Some good options - the most convenient (least out-of-the-way) is likely somewhere from the 33/53 junction up to Virginia.
Duluth airport worries me as it looks like the lot is controlled access and they say $15/day.
That park-and-ride's location could not be more ideal, but of course I'd hate to discover the car got towed...
Mike's place is a bit out of the way but it would bring real peace-of-mind.

I have a spot next to my garage in my place in Duluth that you would be welcome to. Easy access to Highway 35 and 2, about 15-20 minutes from airport. Spot is in back of house, access by alley.

I've read that 48 hours is generally considered the limit at a park 'n ride, but that might just be urban ones. Do you know who operates that park ' ride? If so, call and ask. I've gotten special permission to leave a car in a lot that didn't allow overnight parking before. Just make sure to write down the name and number of whoever gives permission and then leave a note on your dash saying to contact that person.

Looking for ideas - I'm doing one trip in May, but with two different groups (sort of a "week one" group and a "week two" group with some solo time in the middle). As such my entry and exit are fairly far apart.
Logistics: it looks like I need to leave a car somewhere near Duluth or Cloquet or Virginia for about a week while I am in with the first group.
The second group is coming up through Duluth (picking up one of their number at the Airport)...they need to grab my car and bring it to Crane Lake.
Wondering if anyone knows of free options?
One possibility (though I know nothing about it) might be the park-and-ride lot at Hwy 53 & Hwy 33. Anyone ever stash a car there? Not sure if it's kosher to do that.
All ideas welcome...
