Rather than using the 'Boundary Waters Overview Map' link, which leads you to a Google map, use the 'Boundary Waters Online Topo Maps Lookup' link, which will lead you to this site's original proprietary map. Search the name of the lake on which you will be placing your marker. (If you start on another lake or use the 'Boundary Waters Maps by Entry Point' link and then scroll around to the lake you're referencing, the lake name in your information will wind up being wrong.) Zoom in a couple of times on the resulting map to make your mark as accurate as possible. Use the pull-down next to 'Make a location note:' for fishing spot, photo, etc. and then click on your spot the map. Fill out the form and 'Submit spot.'
