I wanted to share this extra picture because you can see the BWCA.com sticker on the stern of the canoe.
This was taken in the Ada Creek area on July 25, 2007. The high for the day was 94 degrees with 90% humidity, but it wasn't the worse day of the trip because there was a breeze. The day before the air was deadly still and the heat oppressive. And the day before that the temperature was a mere 93 degrees with a 91% humidity, but the overnight low was 76! No relief that day, not even at night.
It was one HOT trip!

Its very possible, I try to pay attention to portages on the map, anything else was sight seeing and relaxation. Point me... I'm gone. I know we started from some southern islands off of Lac Lacroix and curled to the left thru some good size rocks sticking up in the water. 2 things reminded me of them, Stonehenge or cemetery grave stones. I believe at some point there must have been a fire there once because there were charred trees.

this was a hard one--i have enought summer days photos to fill
a book--smimmming--fishing--laying around camp...
but i think this really sums up what i love about canoe tripping.
going north on Agnes Lake, light breeze at my back, shorelineing
the "long point"..the blue of the big open sky and water..
and best of all only five out on a fourteen day trip!!!
and --yes--i went under that overhanging tree..i always try to.

My campsite on Boot Lake was amazingly huge and there were a couple of neat little trees growing out of the rocks. I love the beauty of contradictions!

Nothing says "Summer" like an afternoon snooze in a hammock! And what hammock fan hasn't done the foot self-portrait? I'll bet we could start an entire category of these.
