Wow, did some research this morning and am horrified to realize there is a 9 person limit on the day trips too! We stayed at a resort on the gunflint, because we were such a large group and knew we could not stay overnight. I do wish this resort that also provided us the extra canoes and our day permit would have informed us of that day trip limitation! We would have never chosen to break the rules. We very much respect the BWCA and would not disregard set limitations, had we known! I am so sorry, embarrassed and mortified to learn that we did. Thank you for bringing it to my attention....

You had fun, 1Missymaroo, and it looks like your entire group had a great time. You didn't get caught. It is good that you are remorseful, but you can't do anything about it after the fact, so relax and don't worry about it--just be aware in the future. I, too, am surprised that a resort on the Gunflint didn't tell you about the 9-person rule.
But you are lucky that you didn't catch the attention of the Forest Service. ;-)
