Winner will receive an additional prize of leather work from Dicecupmaker with the bwca.com flying moose on it. Thank you Dicecupmaker!

You can enter the same photo if it did not win in a previous month. - You must be the photographer of the photo and have the rights to post it. - Photos are entered in the contest by making a reply posting to this message and using the "Add a photo to this message" link during composition. This will allow you to upload a photo from your computer to the contest or allow you to select a photo which you have already loaded into your photo gallery on this site. June 23rd. Brule Lake, North-Central campsite just SW of Echo Lake portage. A calm clearing after a stormy day while exploring jungle like nearby waterfalls. Who would have thought the BWCA could feel like the Amazon?

"Boundary Waters Rainbows" caused by scattered thunderstorms in the Kelso/Sawbill area. On a related note, here's a link to time-lapse photography of the lifecycle of a rainbow over Sunday Lake in Quetico, created by my husband.

Sawbill Oct. 2012.......... This was the day that the tragedy on Alton happened a couple of years ago. Nasty Day! 30 degrees with 30 plus mile an hour winds and changing between rain, sleet, and snow all day. We stopped at the first campsite on Sawbill and these two were the only other people we saw out on the water all day.

Even with rain and major bugs, Mother Nature can still remind you why you do this every year! This was what we woke up to after a night of fighting bugs and storms.
