Funny photo Blackstick. The flag on their tip-up appears to be up, but for some reason, they don't seem to care all that much. I think the bottle bass bite was on. LOL!

Wow. Very nice.

Mesaba: Don't want to discount your paddle through the rain (as I too paddled through that deluge), but your pic is on the wrong side of summer for this month's contest...
I do like how the rainbow cuts the water into two shades of gray.

Not an entry, but I wanted to post this picture of the same location as wetcanoedog's only two months later (8/1/2007). I thought it interesting to see how much taller the cattails were in that time.

I guess the pink lady slippers (moccasin flowers) say "spring" to me more than anything else. These were on the portage to Horseshoe Lake back in June of '01. They were there on our way across, and I was pleased to see them there on our way back eight days later!

The winner of the March contest goes to Ho Ho! The winner of the trip report contest is Ekffazr! The bonus hat goes to Merganser.
Congratulations to the winners! And thank you everyone for posting a photo and brighting up an otherwise chilly/snowy Spring.

Not the BW or Q, but this little guy just woke up from hibernation today and was walking in circles on our backyard pond. He told me spring was right around the corner.
