I can handle bears, cold, sore shoulders, talentless angling, but a little Grey on a probing mission, I think not!!
Anyone know if they are attracted to deodorant?
(just a joke, I find unexplained things fascinating thanks for sharing).

I have seen 3 UFO's in my life. (sidenote, never captured :)
I do not know what that was, whatever it was, UFO, airplane, whatever, it was cool, and I bet you will NEVER forget where you were and what you saw.
Thanks for sharing

Wallidave - how can you tell you've stayed at that site before? There's not much landscape to see. I'm impressed if you know that site from just the video. Not doubting you at all, just wonder what you saw in the video to know which site it was. John

It looks like the brighter of the two is an airplane heading to the west. For comparison, look at this video: Airplane with Contrails and for what an airplane with contrails looks like: Pictures of airplanes with contrails
As for the second object, I suspect that may be an Iridium Satellite Flare: Iridium Satellite Flare They are fairly common.

quote Alan Gage: "I really can't tell anything from the video but I'd lean towards airplanes. Since the sun has already set and is below the horizon it would likely be lighting the airplanes from below, which is not how we normally see them lit, so that could account for what makes them seem so bright.
Alan"
I also can't tell much from the photo, but agree with Alan. I've seen planes illuminate like this many times just after sundown.
That's the same way we can spot a satellite flying overhead in the early evening. The sun has set, but it will still reflect off a satellite in the sky. You'll be watching it orbit from west to east and then they suddenly disappear as they pass into the earth's shadow.

I believe it was two planes. What's strange is that they were quite some distance apart when we spotted them, but didn't get the camera until they were right by each other. It wasn't sun dogs, these were real objects. I also agree with Alan, I can't explain it any other way. John

quote nofish: "What you have there are your everyday garden variety alien spacecrafts. I suspect that they are from the planet Xanalon but without a close up of the exhaust ports I can't be sure. They could also be Zeparilian but like I said without close ups I can't be sure.
Did you happen to notice any sort of colored lights on the spacecrafts? For future reference 2 green lights usually indicates friendly intentions, most likely just passing through. 3 blue lights indicates a spacecraft is making a temporary pit stop, most likely an Alien potty break. If you see 4 red lights you best put on a double layer of undies and keep your back up against a tree because the 4 red lights indicate they are on a probing mission. Trust me, you don't want to see 4 red lights.
Baring the presence of 4 red lights feel free to wave, invite the strangers into camp and share a pot of coffee. If you do tell them Nofish says hi.

Definitely a UFO, fire in the sky...and from the campsite I've stayed at on 3 trips. COOL!

That slanted tree with the smaller ones off to the left and horizon are etched into my memory :)

Dave you have quite an eye! That was the only time we've done the Quetico. Really liked that site. I hope to get there again. John

Typically the only trace left behind by the Aliens is the funny walk that the camper is left with after a probing mission. After a few portages they are usually able to walk it off.

Do aliens have a "leave no trace" rule for the probing of a person? If not, has the wilderness "leave no trace" rule been honored when a probed person leaves the wilderness?

Easiest thing I have found is to upload the video to youtube, and then link the page in your message.

Could you have been seeing planes maneuvering for in flight refueling? Smaller object could be a fighter jet and the larger a tanker?
Just a thought.

I agree that it is not a sun dog. Sun dogs typically only occur on cold winter days and the sun would be close to the horizon.

I have posted this video to youtube, and the URL is below. I don't know how to make it a link, but I'm sure one of you savvy readers will help.
These two objects were closing in on one another from some distance, but I did not have the camera ready in time to see the two from further apart, then nearing each other, and eventually passing one another. I was expecting to see some explosion when they get close together.
I'm sure there's a reasonable explanation for what we saw, but at the time we really thought we saw a pair of UFO's.

That appears to be the sun reflecting off of a layer in the atmosphere. Most likely it is what is called a sun dog. If you Google images of a sun dog, you will see many similar images. Here is one over Stonehenge that looks similar to yours. That's one of the great things about being out in the wilderness, witnessing natural phenomenon that we normally miss because we are under a roof or staring at a computer screen.
EDIT-After watching the video again, it does appear that it could be the sun reflecting off of the vapor trails of two aircraft flying in opposite directions on the same airway.

bob3 has a good find!!at first i thought it was a spare fuel tank dropped from a military jet then i could see in is in two joined halfs. pontoon?i see a few bullet holes? it's really beat up like it was dropped and a attachment gizmo can be seen on the back. i love wild wilderness finds like this.the best i ever did was weather balloon parts.

I'am open to all ideas-- but from a naturalistic view it seems it is a "mirage" like effect or even something caused by an inversion in the atmosphere ie-- warmer with height as the normal is cooling with height. If this idea is correct its quite likely that what appears as two objects is just one with a mirage effect. What the one object is is beyond me. Agree-- not a sun dog.

While on Saganagons in early June of 2013, my son & I were getting ready to prepare dinner when we spotted something in the sky that looked like two metal objects heading towards each other - planes? anyway, I have a short video of it and was hoping to post it. I know you can post pics, but I've never posted a video? Can it be done, and if so, can someone point me in the right direction? Thanks - John
