Hope she has snow to use them. There is something odd about burning the Yule Log and having to open all the windows in the house to avoid overheating.

My wife and I usually get each other just a little gift each. This year she got me some wool socks, a pair of NF fleece gloves, and a Backpackers Pantry Key Lime Pie desert meal. Key lime pie is one of my favorite pies, so I hope this one tastes good.

I made a set of Ojibwa snowshoes for my grandson, who is 2-1/2 years old. When he tried them out, it started OK, but as he walked, his toes were pointed a little out so that after a couple of steps, he was practically doing the splits, so he wasn't too happy until dad picked him up and carried him.

My hubby got a new Northface rain jacket. He needed it. I got cash so hmmmm what do I need for next May camping trip? Oh, I know! Last spring my rubber boots sprung a leak so I guess I'm in the market for needing something to " foot" the bill. :D

My son and I took our first BWCA trip last July, and will be taking a second this summer. Based on our first experiences, we splurged a little at Christmas, and he found under the tree 2 Big Agnes Chair One's, 3 Luci Lights, a 2-person hammock, (just for daytime) and a slingshot.

Well, maybe Dad wanted these things also.....

Getting our 20 year old set up with his own gear- a 2 man tent, compass, ax, rei tech shirt, and guncleaning kit. And a badger camo quad chair, not lightweight for carrying, but still outdoor stuff.( he got a luci light, saw, and gravity filter for his birthday in October).

Husband revived a heater for the ice shanty, maybe he will get to use it this year yet.

I received a new pack as my old external frame jansport just never really fit well in the canoe, and last summer my husband was ready to throw it to the bottom of the lake.

Daughter got a luggage set -- well you do have to go outside to travel, right?

When I came in Sunday night after a 17hr session of Hell on earth at work, I was walking like an old man. My wife decided it was time to open a present; the present was some nice, cushy, memory foam slippers. So, we ended up doing our gift exchange early (LOL)!

My only "Outdoors" item was my new Pendleton wool paddling hat. That is unless you count the Alps tent Bill told us about in this thread?

Got a swisstool spirit x from my other half this year. She gave it to me before hunting season so I could get some good use out of it. It's been great.

I got her a bunch of merino baselayers, a Sierra designs down coat, and a bunch of mountaineering gear for our trip to Gannett peak this coming year.

Got 4 pairs of nice Columbia wool socks, one of those led Spydr lights you can set down and position to point whichever way, and a book about building your ideal cabin in the woods (not anytime soon, but a dream my brother in law and I share). And a nice mid-layer half-zip shirt thing from Gander Mtn.

I was really hoping someone would buy a like-new Wilderness Systems Pungo 140 kayak for Christmas, so I could pay some bills, but that didn't happen. :(
