Great report and I love the pictures. Thanks for sharing.
My favorite picture is the one with the front of the canoe in the picture.

Nice report and pics.

That pic of the lake with the Alaskan snow capped mountains was especially nice.

Please post more reports and pics of your Alaskan trips. I like to see pics of different areas of the country.

Just a little report of my solo trip from Monday to Wednesday.

I went into the Kenai Peninsula Canoe Wilderness for a three day, two nighter.
Total miliage was 20+, but with double portaging it was more. I saw 5 parties, three of them were coming out after the holiday weekend.
I camped on an island the first nite. That is the first two pics.
It was rainy as I went in, set up my tarp first. (Glad I did cause the rain really set in right after I got it set up).
At evening time the skies cleared and it was clear for the next two days.
It was great paddling weather with cool temps and little wind.

My day out required 12 miles of portaging, (double portaging) and only 5 Miles of paddling. 6.5 hours on the way out, but I was tired. 54 Years old catches up with you.
This Kenai Peninsula canoe system is not as beautiful as the BWCAW, but the lack of crowds is a plus.
A 2 star campsite in the BW would be a 5 star site here.
Some random pics are included.

Where's your new canoe at?

Sounds like a good trip after the rain quit, Linden!

I need to get a portage yoke attached to my new canoe.
I bought the Yoke and have a plan on how to attach it, I just need some parts.
It's not easy to configure a removable Yoke for my new canoe.

Hey Linden glad you had a good time. Pictures are great as always! Its good to see new country. Fire season going ok? We had a 1400 acre fire 5 miles south of us this past Saturday. The guys had a heck of a time catching it. Tall thick matted grass with wind and poor access. Even air tanker drops had minimal effect. Its going to be a long summer in the foothills.
Thanks for the trip report. Larry

Thanks for the mini report. You answered my question as to where your new canoe was. That camp site looks like a typical Canadain bush camp where I go, actually it looks a lot nicer. So do you give the bears a choice as to bear vault or hooch? If you think that 45 years old is catching up with you wait till you get 66 plus, Ha Ha Ha. Thanks again and keep us posted on you adventures and be safe. FRED
