Thanks TomT - Lake One it is, and it looks like my cousin can go. Frenchy19 - Mudro was an early choice, but the only reservations left for my time period were restricted. I need to decide earlier for Mudro.

quote Frenchy19: "Mudro entry gives you some good access to some good fishing. Gun, Fairy, etc. and, of course, the various days of the week bays on Basswood. "

I'd second this route. I'm looking at it as well for a short solo. Loop back through Beartrap from Iron down to Fourtown.

Insula is one day in from Lake One and would be good for a basecamp. Daytrip down the Kawishiwi River and visit Alice.

Going to head in the last week or so in August for 8 days. This will be my 2nd solo if my cousin can not go. I soloed EP 16 and did a loop over to Oyster, up to LAC, and back. I have done several trips to Ensign, Jordan, and Ima area. I would like to do something different. I can't go in VIA Grand Marais this trip. Looking to base camp with some good fishing. LIS ? Snowbank ? Other ?
