Being alone has a power that very few people can handle. Therefore this guy's paddling with his wife and twins in the bow, but of course you can't see them from behind.

It's always a test for sure. I've found it helps to prepare your mind a bit before you go. It's best not to have lingering "stuff" that hasn't been resolved. I want to enter at the put-in with a great mindset and basically live in the present and leave the past behind, if only for 12 nights. It will all be there for me when I get back.
