I'm so glad I retired before all this hit. Otherwise I would be out west fighting fires now with this Covid stuff all around.
My sanity is pretty good due to retirement, leaving this Sunday with the wife and 2 dogs for 10 - 12 days of small trailer camping in Wisconsin and the UP. Hoping for a solo in the BW after that.

I often share with others who marvel that I solo that I really don't solo. I take my "attitude" with me. But "attitude" isn't very smart and tends to wander off and get lost. Unfortunately after some time it always finds its way back home to me...so off we go again.
Have a great trip.

Enjoy the time away. I am completely jealous. Sanity is in short supply at my house. :)

Trying to find time to work on a report. I am back to crazy hours at my teaching job. But for now, suffice to say it was well worth the drive. I loved getting out again by myself. Loads of birds: 6 up close bald eagles, 3 trumpeter swans, a seagull hunting (and catching) crayfish at my campsite, 4 beavers, and much more.

I am behind by 3 trip reports. Might be able to catch up MEA weekend.

Love it!

I have told my family that if I don't come back, it is because I actually managed to find my sanity.

My solemn promise to other travelers in the area this weekend: I promise I will not s cream at the top of my lungs like I did last night in my car after leaving work.

Jealous of the retirement LindenTree. My BIL and I both taught at the same school and he decided to retire right before the school year started. He is the sane one. Spending lots of weeks at his cabin near Grand Marais this fall.

I wish my attitude would get lost. And found by some hungry wolves, never to return. Instead, Ol' attitude has been a bit dogged this season.

I am packed and ready to get out of town for a super short solo this weekend. Packing really light, my pack is under 25 pounds. Not sure how I accomplished that, but I'm happy.

Work has been unbearable...I am trying to make it to the 3 week point of the school year to see if it improves. Hoping that getting to the BWCA will help my sanity.

How is everyone else faring this fall?

If you happen to find enough sanity to share, please bring some back for the rest of us.
