Interested in anyones input on my upcoming trip. 2nd solo, 1 other trip started at LIS. I’ve got 6-8 days for this and probably not interested in a loop trip. My other trip from here was a few years ago with a son, son in law and 5 grandchildren. We just basecamped on Shell. I’m debating going that way and ending up on lynx or heritage. My other option would be to go north thru the cascade to little loon and east loon bay. Last option would be to go up to LLC and back thru North, Slim and the Loon. I plan on a little fishing, just a few meals, but mostly just traveling and camping. I’ve got a dozen or so bwca trips behind me so for the most part I feel comfortable with this, however this will be my first trip this time of year. All others were early to mid June. Any thoughts or advice. Water levels etc. Jim

I was on Lynx about a month ago. Gorgeous lake. Made it to camp from EP in about 5.5 hours (dbl portage)

You're going to love tripping in September, it's my favorite time to go. I'll be entering on the 11th, a little east of you at Angleworm. Lynx and Heritage are great ways to go. I'd recommend a day trip up into Ruby and Hustler, they're worth a see as well.

Thanks to you all. I am currently leaning on Lynx, and checking out some of the other nearby lakes I’ve yet to visit. I vaguely remember reading earlier this year that the beaver dam on the portage to shell had given way. Does anyone know if this is true or not. A few years ago we had to reload and paddle across a portion at the dam. I got my gear out this afternoon and have begun my preparations, won’t be long now.

I remember following a dam to the north of the trail for that section this spring

The beaver dam has not failed. I was through there on a day trip last month and my kids marveled at the height and length of that dam. She's a beaut!

Water levels should be fine for that area. Air temps will be a little cooler but not much.
