I have had solos like that. I hope you don't though! I don't think that you will have so much excess to be annoyed with the added weight. |

quote MNDan: "Or you could bring just enough fuel for your simmering requirements, and pick up one of these for the rest! Then you will have no worries about running out of fuel... I like both this and the Vargo. I like the emberlit because it is a little more flexible as to what size pots you can use on top, but I like vargo's assembly and bottom panel better. Such a dilemna! |

While I think wood burning stoves are sweet and will probably get one someday, the problem with them is that they are useless during a fire ban in the BWCA. And yes, i know that a fire ban isn't a problem in the B-dub right now so that fallacy is mute. |

quote Minnesotian: "Go with the 33 and 22 oz. That will be plenty, with some to spare for frying up the fish. " Yep |

Supper and lunch: 6 Mountain House pro-pak meals, 2 quasadilla cheese meals, a Hamburger Helper meal, 1 or 2 Mac and cheese meals, 1 Knorr meal, and a Fettuccini Alfredo + tuna meal. Breakfast: 6 Oatmeals, 3 or 4 pancake meals (about 2 or 3 pancakes per meal). Hot drinks: 9 breakfast drinks with coco and/or coffee, a few hot drinks (hot todies) before going to bed. Other: If I catch fish (ha ha, will fry 2 or 3 meals of fish either with veg oil or bake with tinfoil. I have in the past taken a MSR large fuel tank(33 oz) and small one (11 oz) for a 6 day trip. Both times they lasted, though on trip 2 yrs ago, ran out of fuel but I found out the small tank (was unaware it was leaking) leaked out on 6th day. Though on those trips, I did not use dehydrated MH meals. Should I take a 33 oz tank and 22 oz tank (or should I take the 11 oz tank) for a 10 day solo trip. Thank you for your advice - Prefer you answer for a "solo" trip, not a group of persons. |

I would think you will be fine with your 33 and 22 oz bottles for the trip. |

I think I'd add a few holes to the bottom of the Emberlit floor - so ashes could fall out. They have a few nice accessories too. |
