Don't have any trip advice but its tough to lose a friend, no matter if they are furry or not, but sometimes its the best for them, I do believe that in the end we are ALL united with our loved ones. FRED

Thanks all. Am now thinking about just doing the numbered lakes on into Insula. Easy & familiar with a few people around and hopefully good fishing...

I'm sorry about your dog.
I'm not familiar with that area, but general advice: be careful, take your time, do what you want, enjoy yourself.

Hi all - after making the excruciating decision to put my dog down yesterday, I've decided I need to get out of town for some solace. :(
I just picked up a Bell Magic a couple of months ago, and want to do my first solo starting on Sept 20th. I've been to the BWCA dozens of times, so I've got a lot of BWCA experience but no solo experience.
Any recommendations for a nice, fairly easy 4-day route that will get me into some decent fall fishing & colors? I was looking at Sawbill into Cherokee (lots of portaging) or perhaps Moose into the S arm of Knife and around to Ensign as options, but would appreciate any advice that you might have for me.
thanks! dan
