My daughter and I were slated to head up the Moose River to Crooked and exit @ Mudro starting on 7/29. She learned today that she will be unable to make the trip due to work and soccer, but I did not want to simply drop the permit. So, I will be taking the trip solo, and I will be using a Wenonah Canak for the adventure. I have paddled it around town quite a bit, but I am curious/excited to see what I think of it after a 7-10 day trip. Should be interesting!

Enjoy your solo, and I'll look forward to your report. I've thought about giving one a try sometime.

Maneuvers easily and comfy to fish from, but it also adds an additional 10 lbs compared to your Magic, and I will feel that on the portages. If I pretend I am hauling my tandem I should be okay. Looking forward to banging it around in some rough water...

With the recent storm, I am tempted to alter my route and head west from the Moose River to see the damage. One of my favorite sites is the beauty on the sw end of the island on Finger, and I would be very sad if it received significant damage! Also curious about the damage on Ge-be.
