Hi. This has to do with my solo trip so felt I could safely ask this here. Plus I'm more comfortable asking you all on the solo site vs the main. So again hope this is ok? As you all know I just bought a used solo canoe. So I contacted the outfitter (not a supporter of this forum) and asked if I could get a refund. The guy said yes (not very pleased at all) and said I'd get my refund by Wednesday (yesterday) at the latest. I emailed him twice yesterday asking and then again this morning as it's still not there. I haven't heard any reply. Any advise? My deal is that if you say you are going to do something you should do it. If he's mad at me he should still understand I'm still a customer and may want to rent a tandem from him in the future. There's a lot of Outfitters in the Ely area. Oh well. Any advise would be great Mike

You didn't say if it was being mailed or what the process is, Mike, so I think I'd just give them a couple of days - maybe call if not there Monday. You never know what situation they might be dealing with either - it's not a large company, probably just a small family operation.

Sorry, he said he'd put it back in my checking account. I am going to just wait. So just disregard this post. Thanks Boonie. You are a good guy Mike

Just curious. What are you getting a refund for?

Bank transactions can take one to several business days to show up in an account. I deal with this a lot as a consultant and I'm always talking to my bank about it. Just saying.

It's been taken care of. The worker was waiting for the owner to do it and the owner was waiting for the worker to do it and because of the off season they never worked the same hours and that's why it took so long. Shouldn't of even made this post

I'm assuming you're asking for your deposit back. If that's the case I'd just let it go and if you feel he/she wasn't honest with you just use someone else in the future.

How would he put it back in your checking account? How did you pay him? How long ago?

Outfitters typically don't work much in their off season. Many of them actually vacation in the winter. I guess I would try to be patient. Maybe something came up during him/her office time.

You can always email an admin with the link to the thread and ask them to delete it.

quote brux: "You can always email an admin with the link to the thread and ask them to delete it." Oh well. I never posted the name of the Outfitters and they are not a sponsor of the forum and they were giving me the run around and I was 20 hours away and didn't know what to do at the time. No harm done in my opinion anyways Mike
