Anyone know how busy the state parks are in early November between Split Rock and Cascade River? I want to spend a few days camping the day before and after the lighting of the Split Rock Lighthouse

I don't know for sure, but I would imagine they would be really empty. When do some MN state parks close for the winter? (Or are they all open in the winter? I know some WI parks close and some are open.)

Good call on heading up for the lighting of Split Rock. I've been up there a few times for it, and would definately head back. Quite the somber occaion though.

The State parks are mostly vacant at that time, so you get your pick. That point of the fall is my favorite time along the North Shore, as most people have stopped their visits by then, as the colors are done, and full on snow is not yet there.

Have fun.

Some of them are closed by then. I know that Cascade stays open year round.

We were just up there over the weekend and all the state parks were full. We ended up camping at a state forest campground. I would have thought with the price of gas and the time of year the parks would have started slowing down by now.
