Make sure that you take the short portage into High Lake. It is a beautiful emerald green lake. The water is crystal clear and make sure that you fish it very early or late in the day because the Smallies can be tough on clear sunny days.

Nice camp sites. If you do stay there, paddle over to mountain and fish it.

I have only stayed on "Squirrel" campsite on Crooked Lake, but it was nice. We had a small group with some kids and it worked out well.

Does anyone have any information or recommendations on the campsites on Crooked Lake in the Sylvania Wilderness? I am specifically looking for any information on Fisher and Fox sites. What is your favorite site on Crooked Lake? We are planning on going the 3rd week in August 2017 and there will be three couples in three tents sharing the site. We stayed at Osprey 1 on Loon Lake and at Ermine 1 on Mountain Lake in August 2010 and had a great time. Bill
