Gotta always mind those pike. Thanks for the tip. Happy paddling!

Smallies almost always eat things head first so I don't bother with stinger hooks, they just increase the odds of hooking in the gills. As for colors, white is a good start. You can easily color the white ones with markers. Dark top / light bottom, or perch / firetiger. Cant go wrong with black either. I usually use a light wire bite tippet as Pike will hammer them as well.

Good evening everyone,
As the weather is starting to warm up I finally got the itch back to be at the vise. I just finished reading Blane Chocklettes new book Game Changer. The book is dedicated to his fly tying and fishing career with the primary focus being the game changer platform. So anyway I will get to the point.

What colors would you recommend to focus on to target smallies with the game changer platform? At the moment I have tied white feather changers and some chartreuse body wrap changers. These flies take around an hour to tie each fly which is why I am trying to focus on what I am tying.

side side not: do you prefer stinger or forward hook placements for smallies?

Thanks happy paddling!
