John McPhee, who has written extensively about canoeing among many other things, has a piece on flyfishing for chain pickerel (an eastern U.S. species of pike) in the Feb. 8 New Yorker magazine. You can probably find it at your library--I think you have to have a subscription in order to read it on-line.
