Moonman video: 29" Walleye on the fly... |

I have been a long time guest here and own an Orvis Endorsed fly fishing lodge in NW Ontario, not far from BWCA waters. Fly fishing is my passion for bass, pike, trout and even walleye. Anyway this is not a promotion or anything, but there is a great fly fishing show out there called The New Fly Fisher. Its on the World Fishing Network (WFN), PBS and numerous other stations nationwide. As luck would have it this week's episode was filmed at Hawk Lake Lodge (my place) and is one of the few shows where they target bass, pike and walleye on a fly rod. Most shows they are catching trout and salmon. See if you can find it, its fun to watch smallies rocket out of the water. Also note that the closing of the show is the host catching a monster walleye, yes on the fly. That fish set a catch and release world record on a fly-rod, pretty cool. Have a good season all. The show will be put on-line once it has aired nationally on all the stations. |
