Beautiful. Maybe the medium was acrylic paints not watercolor? Do these paintings bring any reaction to the surface when she sees them?

I found this on the net: Alkyd Medium. And it is still being sold as an alternative to oil-based paints.

She just started painting in her later years. Not sure where it is, but she spent a lot of time in the BW and retired in Castle Danger do I'm assuming it is from the Arrowhead of MN.

Thanks Inspector,
Mocha, we have not hung up the paintings and I'm not sure if my wife plans to, so my MIL has not seen them in our home. My MIL mom has around half her mind left but it is slipping fast, it is taking a toll on the wife. My MIL is 89 hand has led a full life if that is any consolation.

Another one she painted. In the lower left corner it says "Showy Ladyslipprs of Goosberry SP. Medium Alkyd." I don't know what that is. We have these paintings because my MIL is in memory care in Duluth.

Cool stuff that she's taken up painting. This looks like watercolor. That's my favorite medium but tough to control. Hopefully she loves doing it, that's a neat tree.
