cyclones30: "How does it compare speed-wise to an Advantage?" Back in the day those 2 canoes where often compared to each other. I think the consensus was they're very close in speed with similar weight.

If you aim to put on miles or burn some calories, the Shockwave is your kind of canoe. As a tripping boat it carries you and your gear farther with less effort than most solo tripping canoes. Want to use your double (kayak) blade, go right ahead, it’s as though it was made for one. Just sprinting around the lake? Leave ‘em in your wake!

Speedwise, both were built for racing. I believe the Shockwave has more capacity. I like both hulls but chose the Shockwave for its stability with a load. And I liked the seat adjustment/trim better.
