SOLD> Approximately 20 year old Old Town Tripper tandem canoe. Royalex. 17.2' long, 36" wide. 80lbs. Skid plates.

I am the second owner. Had her for about 10 years, but no longer use her. Obviously, some scrapes and blemishes, but plenty more life left in her.

I replaced the seats about one year ago. Sold as is in picture, including two basic 54" paddles. Cash or Zelle, no refunds.

$600.00.

Local pickup, you must come to the area of Devon and Harlem on the NW side of the city of Chicago, then after confirmation, I will send my address. Sorry, not delivering her anywhere. Make sure you have an appropriate vehicle with bars and straps.

Looks just like my old Tripper, purchased new in the early 1980s and reluctantly sold in 2006. I couldn’t handle 80# anymore.

These boats can really take a beating. Yours looks to be in really good shape and your price seems very fair. You need to find the river runners. BWCA.com membership seems to be mostly lake canoeists. I recently sold a Penobscot RX through Craigslist and got the most responses there.

Good luck.

Twin to my old Tripper, too. I can't seem to give mine up...I've had it for 40 years. I got it as a teenager from a couple that tried paddling it down Minnehaha Creek and almost went over Miinnehaha Falls. The wife refused to get back in after their near death experience and my dad offered to buy it right then and there. I used $300 of my own money and my dad chipped in the rest. We still use ours for conditioning both paddling and portaging, but have only taken it on one trip in recent years. Point of pride that on a good day (w/ lots of warming up and stretching) I can still one-up it.

Sorry we highjacked your post with memories. Trippers get into your soul :)

If you post your listing for this OT Tripper on the FaceBook page, North American Canoe Trader, https://www.facebook.com/groups/midwestcanoe, you likely will get some motivated buyers. It costs nothing, though you do have to join the group, and probably have to be a FB member. To do that, you only have to answer a few questions: "Do you intend to buy or sell a canoe, will you abide by the rules, etc." Once you answer ALL of the questions, you can post your information, or a link to Criagslist; bwca.com; Facebook Market Place or wherever.

Suggested format, lead with: Make, Model & Length of the Canoe; Location; Price.

Old Town Tripper 17', Royalex, Chicago, $600. Ad link or details, load pictures if not posting link.

I am not a fan, at all, of Facebook or Mark Z. On the other hand, I have found North American Canoe Trader to be a very useful and worthy site. I know for a fact, that I have brought readers of that site to bwca.com membership.

In short, participating at North American Canoe Trader is rewarding, and helps build our community.

Best of luck with your sale.
