There’s a Facebook page called North American Canoe Trader. The folks there scour Craigslist and other places for canoes offered for sale. It would be worth your time to monitor it:

Red, Old Town Appalachian 16 ft in really good condition. Stolen from shed in northern Wisconsin sometime last winter. A long shot but if someone comes across one for sale any information is appreciated. I'm in the process of obtaining serial number back from when I purchased. Nice paddle offered as reward if recovered. PS keep your serial numbers at hand! Add a custom touch to your canoe(hand engraver?) and if you beat up your canoe console yourself with the thought it is less desirable to a thief.
