There’s a hint on the side. I think this is the canoe that was being used for an attempt on the record down the Mississippi a year or two ago. IIRC, in really bad conditions they transferred to their support boat but were unable to pull the canoe aboard. It got sucked underwater and … I think we can see the rest.

It's certainly repairable- will take new gunwales and a good deal of fiberglass and resin. Won't be ultra-light but with care can still be ultra-fast,

If you click on the profile for the post, you find that it's Scott Miller, team leader of a 2021 effort to break the time record for paddling the Mississippi River. Sad ending to the effort here. and some info on the team here. My apologies if you can't get past the Star-Tribune pay-wall.
