I’ve had the boat for years now and have barely used it (I’m usually on solo adventures so the canoe stays stored and the kayaks get used). If you’re looking at this boat than you probably already know the pedigree of these craft. There’s some info online about Joe and his canoes, including his own book “The Art of the Canoe”: https://www.amazon.com/Art-Canoe-Seliga-Jerry-Stelmok/dp/0760312419 But here’s a simple article with some backstory: https://canoeing.com/remembering-joe-seliga/ This is the 17’ model and is in really good condition for its age. Not a pristine museum piece, but a true paddlers adventure rig. As Joe told my Grandfather “use her, but don’t abuse her.” I recently replaced the cane seats and did a decent (not perfect) paint job on the hull. Two coats of Totalboat Wet Edge - just to cover some minor cracks and chips in the original paint. The canoe is sound. Never any leaks nor structural issues. She likes heavy loads and is dreamy to paddle. Comes with two nice paddles in good condition. Message me with any questions and I’ll do my best to answer them. I have a bunch more pics I can send you as well. Asking $7,500 and will consider fair offers. Located in Waterford Maine. Cash and carry. |
