When you get your price comparison make sure and ask about the "fuel surcharge" which may not be mentioned in the estimates.

We used Zup's service for the first time this year. We took the shuttle from Crane Lake to Bottle portage. It saved us a day of paddling up Nina-Moose and Agnes. We arranged it through Dan at Canadian Water's. Service was superb! The shuttle is a thrill ride via jet boat upstream to Zup's resort on Lac La Croix. Mark Zup sat us down in his lodge, despite the fact that we were not using any other service, and mapped out a fishing hotspots tour of Iron, Crooked and Argo, stuff it would have taken multiple trips for me to find myself. He is a real professional with unlimited knowledge of this area. Growing up there, his father ran a resort at Curtain Falls until it was relocated to the edge of the BWCA. We were then shuttled over to Bottle. Along the way the driver stopped at our request at the Warrior Hill pictographs. Class act all the way!

A third vote for Gateway. Great ride, lower prices

Andersons or better yet call Randy at Gateway resort cheaper than either and a character.

218-993-2415---hard to get ahold of, but if you do he is the best.

I'll second getting a ride from Rocket Randy. He's a real trip.

Definately check out the pictographs on La Croix; they are among the best on the Canadian Shield.

If your going to Iron then you need to see Rebecca Falls and Curtain Falls.

Don't forget to get a RABC for Rebecca falls and the Picto's on LLC.

We have used both and are happy with both. If you use Anderson's then you SHOULD NOT have to deal with Customs.

I will be heading into Iron for a Thursday-Monday trip in the end of August and was wondering if anyone has a preference when dealing with the outfitters. Also, wondering if there are any recommendations for day trips. Interested in fishing for smallies, walleyes, northern, and wouldn't mind a day going after trout. I've also heard there are pictos on the eastern end of lac la croix and was wondering if that would be a worthwhile day trip? I've read alot about this lake/area and want to make sure I make the most out of my short stay...
