+1 on the "rock" in the upper 2/3rds of Agnes. There is great structure on the east side of the lake just below this rock. Look for a peninsula jutting out (can't miss it). Good structure/slope to fish. Boulder Bay (north of Agnes) is not to be missed as well and a good place to basecamp. Just a thought.

There's pretty much only 2-3 spots on that entire route that produce fish so it's good you asked on here. My suggestion would be the spot with the structure appropriate for time of year and water temp, I've caught a lot of fish in that spot.

Lots of rapids on that route. Fish under all that you can, especially at dawn and dusk. What time of year are u going?

Can only speak of Horse lake, which had horrific fishing in July of 2016. That being said, we hammered bass in the Horse River which made their way into the frying pan and were delicious.

We had heard great things about the Walleye on Horse Lake but 6 guys fishing for 7 days produced only a handful of 12"-or-so eyes, 1 15" and 1 18".

That's primetime walleye fishing on LLC and Agnes. Troll the shorelines with a spinner and a leech. You'll find them.

8-10 days? I'd be sure to hit Iron and Crooked as well!

I marked the best spot so it will be easy to find. It’s marked with an ‘X’ on the bottom of my canoe.

Should be pretty easy to catch walleye and crappie on Agnes. Fish holes below current which you'll have a lot of.

Take the time to see curtain falls. Then fish below the falls

On Agnes, there is a spot on the west side, about 2/3 of the way up, You will see a large stone wall, maybe 75 or 100 feet long and 20 or 30 feet high. I've always had good luck trolling a spoon back and forth past there. The depth changes rapidly, and its just a question of finding the right spot.

There is a good solo campsite just north of the wall that is hard to spot, but there's a ledge to pull up to and easy to get out and pull your canoe out of the water. That early in the spring though, it could be buggy.

p.s. I will be heading south through Agnes on the 14th or15th, so if you see an old guy in a prism, give me a wave. Hopefully, the fishing should be good everywhere that time of year.

p.p.s. Liked your personal quote.

I would love to hear about any 'secret' fishing hot-spots entering at Moose River and going north.
My destination is un-certain at this time, but I'll be taking traditional routes from #16 north to however far I can get in 8-10 days solo and would love to have plenty of fish to eat along the way.
In fact - my main focus would be on fishing and not sight seeing.
I'll also be hammock camping so sites with "tent pads" are irrelevant.
I would not mind base camping for most of the trip and I don't really care if I catch a ton of fish all in one lake. The scenery is not that important.
Fish in the skillet is what motivates me.
Any info along these lines would be greatly appreciated.

One in every fishing crowd. Or two.
But, thanks.

Also, if you get onto LLC be sure to fish the Bottle Rapids south of the portage.
