Smallmouth were active for us. Found them out from shore a bit in 4-10 feet of water and in current areas.

I was wondering the same thing. We leave in 1 week for Kawnipi and the hot weather was NOT what we wanted. Now it is cooling off for sure but probably too late. We were hoping to try for trout on McEwen...We will see I guess.
Bass spawn is happening now I assume...almost over. We wont be there till the 10th which is usually perfect.

We just got back from a week in the Malberg area. A few smallies up shallow but not many, had best luck near current.

Any update? We do in on Sunday and I know there has been cooler weather lately but assume the warm stretch got them going.

Anybody having any smallmouth luck lately? Are they spawning or still pre-spawn? Also have Lakers moved deep yet?

Last week the bass were pre-spawn, shallow, and aggressive.

I caught trout anywhere from right next to shore to 20 feet down over 100+ feet of water. I got one trout vertical jigging near the bottom in 45'. I had been marking several fish near the bottom there. The surface temps were rising fast, so I assume the trout will be pushing down.
