Hi all,
I figured since my trip is focused primarily on fishing, that I would post in the fishing forum. My main target is Smallmouth for action and then walleye for the occasional food. Here is my route:

Ep#24 Fall Lake, Newton, Pipestone Bay, Jackfish Bay, Basswood Falls and then reverse order back to the entry point.

My trip is planned for 6 days, 5 nights. I am aware just by spending time researching on this forum that Basswood would be the pot at the end of the rainbow. Is there any of the lakes mentioned along the way, that I should focus more on, that would produce a higher volume of fish than the other lakes? Or any other variance in route to get to Basswood?

I would like some inputs on my decision of this route. I thank you all for having shared your knowledge and wisdom on this site as I have learned a ton!

I did this exact route as a first timer last year, and tried to push all the way through to basswood the first day. I made it but was completely exhausted and hadn’t fished at all the first day essentially. I would consider camping first night somewhere along the way. Also I exited out of Mudro just to have some variance in the scenery

Focus on Basswood Falls and Pipestone bay. You will see and hear a few motors along most of your route.

Thanks for sharing old_salt and fishing_MD. I appreciate your responses. It is rather unfortunate to be hearing the motors along the way.

I’d get up to basswood. I’d start by finding weeds and targeting the deepest edges. If that doesn’t pan out find the reefs via your topo maps and key on the tops of the reefs.
