Most of the record Muskies are caught in the Fall. They eat like crazy to fatten up for the long winter. That same one will look like he was on a diet in Spring.

Here's the same fish the very next day. It has a very high metabolism.

Judging by the angler's clothing and the fact it was caught on a topwater I'm guessing it was caught during the warmwater months. Imagine when she does go on a fall feeding frenzy and when she starts to fatten up with eggs.


Perhaps she ate a Canada goose or a small dog.
