All of my Quetico fishing trips have been the end of August and September. Walleye and smallmouth are in deep water so fishing techniques are based on that.
This June (6/8-6/15] will be my first Quetico fishing trip in the Spring. Walleye have spawned and the smallmouth are getting ready to spawn. So the question is-Where are the fish? In swallow water if so what depth? Below water falls or in the currents below and leading to the falls? Off shallow reefs, points and bays?

Most will still be in the shallows (or close by them) then, except for trout. Moving water is always good, but especially in the spring.

If the spawn is early, or if you're on smaller/darker lakes that are "ahead of schedule," the bass might be done spawning and (the big ones especially) moved out off the shorelines to mid-depth ranges.

Tough to predict this far out. It's early/mid June, though, so they'll be biting somewhere, wherever they are. :)
