I have fished it many times...I don't know about smallmouth but there are a lot of lake trout there. The two don't usually mix in small bodies of water. Early season have had lake trout following a lure when running in a figure 8 pattern in front of a canoe like you would do for muskies. It was a blast! Have caught some nice trout in there...better than Gabi.
