I've been combing through old posts on the subject of canoe country crayfish and have seen a lot of helpful stuff. I'd like to try eating them myself, and write about it for my website. Figure I'd have the time when I'll be solo tripping up in the BW in the middle of May, which I expect could be shortly after ice-out this year. From what I gathered, the little buggers go deep late in the season; I might predict that the same would be true for the early season (based on water temps?). Does anybody have any firsthand crayfish observations from the just-after-ice period? Thanks much.
