Meeds is a very good smallie lake and a good walleye lake. Campsite 617 which is the island site halfway down the lake is a good spot to camp. Not the best view but good tent sites and fire area. We caught a lot of fish right from camp.
We canoed down the southern shore one day and came to a sheer rock wall about 6 feet high. Fished out from that a bit and caught a bunch of nice smallies.
Quiet lake with good fishing, perhaps not the prettiest in the BWCA, kind of low lying, but a nice spot nonetheless.

I've fished in that area. Interestingly, I'm going into Lizz on June 24th for five days. Are you leaving from Rockwood?
I've caught fish in Caribou and Vista without too much effort. I'm bringing leeches for the first time this year.

We paddle out June 23rd for five nights with Meads Lake as a destination. I’ve never fished this area. Anyone willing to share some info?
